FAQ

What’s the story behind Aperture Threads?

Aperture Threads is a small, family-run brand built by photographers, for photographers. After countless shoots (and just as many uninspiring T-shirt designs), we decided it was time to make something better — tees that actually get the inside jokes, the gear obsession, and the deep love we all share for capturing moments.

Do you offer returns or exchanges?

We don’t offer returns, but if something’s off — wrong size, print issue, or shipping damage — we’ll fix it. Our 30-day guarantee has you covered.

Just email us at support@aperturethreads.com within 30 days with your order number and a photo. We’ll make it right.

What exactly am I getting when I order?

You’re getting more than just a T-shirt.

You’re getting a soft, U.S.-printed tee made to order, designed by photographers, and built for editing sessions, photo walks, and unsolicited gear talk. We print on ultra-soft, pre-shrunk, true-to-size tees that are made to last.

With every order:

🖨️ Your shirt is printed just for you — no stockpiles, no waste.
👕 Made with ultra-soft, premium cotton (solid colors are 100% cotton, while heathers/sports grey use a soft cotton-poly blend).
📸 You’re joining the Aperture Threads collective — the group that lives for lenses, laughs, and cotton that actually feels good.

You're getting your new favorite photography shirt — and probably a compliment from your photo buddy.

Where are your shirts made and shipped from?

All our T-shirts are printed and shipped in the USA using high-quality blanks. That means quicker delivery, soft shirts, and no international mystery delays.

What kind of T-shirts do you use?

We use Gildan 64000 — ultra-soft, durable, and perfect for post-shoot chilling, studio days, or just repping your photography obsession on the go.

No scratchy fabric. No boxy fits. Just good, comfortable cotton.

How do I wash my photographer shirt?

Wash it like your photo gear depends on it:

  • Turn it inside out
  • Cold wash
  • Tumble dry low (or hang it next to your camera bag)
  • No bleach, no ironing over the print

Why does it feel a little stiff when it arrives?

Totally normal. That’s just the ink doing its thing. One wash and it’ll feel like a well-loved tee — minus the lens dust.

What does Made-to-Order mean?

Every shirt is printed just for you after you order it. No piles of stock, no waste, and it means we can keep releasing new designs without overproducing. Sustainable and streamlined.

Shipping & Delivery

Where are your shirts made and shipped from?

All our T-shirts are printed and shipped from the USA using high-quality blanks. That means soft shirts, faster delivery, and zero international mystery delays.

Do you ship internationally?

Not yet — we currently ship within the USA only. If that ever changes, we’ll let you know.

How long does shipping take?

  • Orders are printed and packed within 2–3 business days.
  • From there, U.S. shipping usually takes 3–5 business days.
  • Remote areas and islands might take a little longer — especially if you're ordering from a photo hide out in the wilderness.

How much is shipping?

  • Standard shipping is a flat $4.97.
  • Spend $75 or more and shipping’s free — more budget for lenses and lattes.

Will I get tracking info?

Yep! You’ll get a tracking email as soon as your order ships.
If it’s been more than 5 business days and you haven’t seen it, give us a shout: support@aperturethreads.com

What is Shipping Protection and how does it work?

Shipping Protection is a $1.95 optional add-on that covers your order if it gets lost, stolen, or damaged in transit. If something goes wrong, we’ll send you a replacement — no forms, no fuss.

It’s added automatically at checkout, but you can remove it if you’d rather take the risk (we wouldn’t 😉).

Do you run discounts or promos?

We do — especially for new designs, big holidays, or just when we feel generous.

Do these shirts make me a better photographer?

Sadly, no. But they’ll make you look like you know what you’re doing — and sometimes, that’s half the battle.
